Hi Margene
The Timex watch I have in my gear section is just the old fashioned Ironman 30 lap that's been around for years...no heart rate monitor involved. I use a Suunto HRM, which is pretty accurate as far as heart rate goes (the calorie counter is strange though..it'll tell me I burned 200 calories on a 12 mile run). In my experience, Timex is a pretty good brand though, and I do have friends who like the Timex HRMs, so I'm sort of surprised you're having problems with yours. It might just be a lemon...I would talk to Timex about it. Good luck!

Hi - Just curious whether you have had any problems with yours. I've had mine almost a year and have had to replace batteries in both the strap on the watch itself - twice. Also, the HR often goes to 240 for no reason at all and then I don't get an accurate reading on max HR or on calories burned. Curious whether you've experienced any of this. Timex actually sent me a new strap but it isn't any better! Thanks!!
