I made a New Year's resolution to improve my cardiovascular fitness this year so since the first of January I've been pretty good about getting out there and getting the blood pumping at least a few times a week. I currently train using a heart rate monitor and a distance/pace sensor. Mostly just wanting to get in shape but I'm starting to think that maybe some competitive races might be fun to get into. If for no other reason that they'd give me a specific goal/event to train for. I'm a novice to the sport so any words of advice or encouragement are always welcomed.
